Checking your blood sugar with a glucose meter

Regular blood sugar (glucose) monitoring is the most important thing you can do to manage type 1 or type 2 diabetes.

Watch this quick video to learn some helpful tips from Marie Jacinto-Dearing, a registered pharmacist with Express Scripts® Pharmacy.

Check with your doctor about your target range

It’s important to keep your blood sugar levels in your target range to help prevent or delay serious health problems such as heart disease, vision loss, and kidney disease. Staying in your target range can also help improve your energy and mood.

In addition to your doctor, our pharmacists can answer any questions you may have about your particular blood glucose meter or how to get a glucose meter if you don’t have one. They can also answer any questions you have about your diabetes medication or any medication you’re taking.
